THE OCTOBER THERAPY BOX
"The all Australian cheese selection"
With October comes warm temperatures and the anticipation of summer, welcomed by many Australians. With summer and nice weather, going to the beach naturally follows. Did you know that there are more than 10,000 beaches across Australia? A lot right! But here’s an even more mind boggling fact - per annum around 381,000 tonnes of cheese is made! Australian made, delicious cheese! Pretty cool we think! Being the October Therapy Box, if you have tried our cheeses since these boxes started in January, you would have tried a whopping 36 cheeses, and with this box, you get to try four more! You're on a great track in your cheese tasting journey with many more cheeses to come. Get excited for this month's Therapy Box, there are some really special cheeses we want to share with you!
Why you should order this month’s Therapy Box
Your support means the world not only to our Australian cheesemakers but also our dairy farmers. For every kilo of cheese made, it takes roughly 10 litres of milk -a fair bit! Our great artisan cheesemakers rely on these fantastic dairy farmers to produce exceptional milk so they can make exceptional cheeses. Consequently, not only are you supporting our cheesemakers but also dairy farmers across the country! Enjoy delicious cheese whilst doing good. Can it get any better? We don’t think so!
This month’s cheese*:
Each pack includes four cheeses made by great Australian, artisan cheesemakers, plus accompanying tasting notes for wine and food pairings.
SOFT - Monet, Kris Lloyd, SA
A selection of herbs and organic edible flowers that are in season decorate the cheese. Every cheese is seasonally themed. No two are the same. The cheese is named Monet after Monet Gardens because the finished product is not unlike photographs of his garden. Monet cheese tastes as good as it looks - it’s the very taste of spring with a smooth and soft flavour profile.
HARD - Tarkine Gruyere, Red Cow Organics, TAS
Gruyere is known well for its consistent nutty flavour, with a slightly condensed sweet tone that lingers on the palate. We mean the good kind of lingering, that’s meant to help you wait longer between your pieces, but let's be honest here you probably won't and we don’t blame you.
STINKY - Milawa Ceridwen, Milawa, VIC
The romance of making cheese is one that is in many of us. But in the case of David & Anne Brown, their cheese romance started in 1988 when they bought the historic Milawa Butter Factory. This cheese has been named after David & Anne’s daughter, Ceridwen, who now runs Milawa Cheese Co. A delicious cheese that is both a white mould cheese and a fresh cheese.
BLUE - The Diplomat, Grandvewe, TAS
This unique creamy blue will take your tastebuds on a trip they‘ve never been on before. At first, after biting through the soft outside of this surface ripened mould, you can taste a delightful creaminess typical for a white mould cheese. Then, your tongue discovers the indulgent caves of blue mould inside. We could go on about its delicious taste, but to keep it short - this combination of blue and white mould is just out of this world delicious!
* Cheeses may change without notice if they become unavailable. In this case, we will substitute with another great cheese.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.
