This Christmas, the best gift is something that is bound to put a big smile on anyone's face - CHEESE! Gifting the GLobetrotter Pack means not only will the recipient get some indulgent cheese, but also the opportunity to travel with their cheesebuds around the world! This is the perfect gift for any travel and cheese enthusiast, or really - the perfect gift for anyone!
What are the cheeses?
Our cheesemongers have been foraging around the world with the mission to find the perfect four cheeses to gift this Christmas. The result? Four cheeses that will blow anyone away, we can promise that whoever won't be gifted this cheese pack will be jealous of those who do! Check out the cheeses below*.
HARD - Cloth Aged Cheddar, Pyengana | Australia
For four generations, the Healey family have been making English-style cheddar from their Pyengana farm. This one is Australia’s best example of how a cheddar should be. It’s richness of flavour, the butteriness and that earthy smell from the cloth make this a gold. It’s no wonder that the famed Rockpool restaurant in Sydney have a section in the cheese cave just for them.
SOFT - Le Conquerant Camembert, Le Conquerant | France
The region of Normandy on the western coast of France is not only famous for its cider, but also for its raw cows milk cheese such as the creamy, hand ladled Cambembert de Normandie. This little beauty represents all that is beautiful about this style, made from pasteurised milk for the Australian market, and due to this defiance, named after William the Conquer!
STINKY - Germaine Langres Plateau, cheesemaker | France
This cheese is an appellation cheese meaning that pretty much most aspects of its milk and production are controlled by a set of rules. Langres (pronounced Long) comes from the Champagne region in France. The cows are only allowed to graze within the vines of Champagne.
BLUE - Sapphire Blue, Grandvewe | Australia
Grandvewe Sapphire Blue is aged for up to 4 months and has a rich distinct flavour with an underlying ewe’s milk derived sweetness. Soft yet crumbly, with a spicy, sea-salty flavour. The greenish-blue veining characteristics make it easily recognisable as a Roqueforti and oh so irresistible. Show it off as a dessert cheese paired with a sweet dessert wine, serve crumbled with a side salad or enjoy as it is.
* Cheeses may change without notice if they become unavailable. In this case, we will substitute with another great cheese.
Blessed are the cheesemakers.
