They made scrumptious cheese and from the whey, they made glorious gin and from the gin’s native Australian botanicals, they again made cheese! Introducing the Gin Herbalist crafted from a great circle of life between artisan cheese and boutique gin. Honestly, can you get a better match?

Modelled from famous sheep milk cheese crafted in the island of Corsica – the Fleur De Marquis, then rolled in a selection of herbs at its birth, the gin herbalist is a unique cheese, the kind of cheese you want to take out and show off to everyone. Like oh look at my cheese, it’s so pretty and tasty and nice and yummy and... You get it - we love this cheese!
Over the maturation time, these native botanical herbs will impart their flavours on the curd. Oh my cheesy goodness! Once this happens, you’ll find that heaven is a place on earth!
Who is Grandvewe?
Grandvewe is situated 40mins due South of Hobart overlooking the calm waters between Bruny Island and the "mainland" (as mainland as Tasmania can get). This family run farm and cheesemaking also includes a vodka distillery. Can life get any better?
How does it taste?
Enjoying Grandvewe Gin Herbalist is an experience giving you a taste of rare Australian natives with floral and sweet characters as well as Lemon Myrtle, Anise Myrtle, Wattle seed, and Tasmanian pepper leaf. With age the rind becomes dotted with grey-blue mould. The texture becomes softer, absorbing the savoury and herbaceous flavours of the rind striking a delicate balance with the warm, bright sheepy quality of the interior paste. Oh yes it’s a combination of fancy flavours - your tastebuds will thank you!

We send all parcels the fastest way possible which is either via our own Cheese Angel delivery service or AusPost Express, depending on your location. Cost of shipping is $15 and this will be added to your order on checkout. Packs sent AusPost are wrapped in a special insulation blanket with gel ice packs. Packs delivered by our Cheese Angels travel in a refrigerated truck and you will receive notification on the day of delivery.
Each wheel is roughly 1.8kg. As this is a handmade product, weights will vary.
