MORE PROM COUNTRY CHEESE COMING SOON - STAY TUNED!
If you're not familiar with Prom Country Cheese, you'll soon be spreading the word! We love working with cheesemakers with the passion and love that Prom Country Cheese showcase! With a stack of awards behind them and control over every aspect of their hand-crafted creations, we know you'll be pretty pleased with this pack of wholesome sheep milk cheeses, all made with vegetarian rennet!
Who is Prom Country Cheese?
From paddock to plate, these guys are the get it done, we mean ALL done, kind of cheesemakers! Having complete control over the entire process, from growing the pastures, to breeding and milking, handcrafting the cheese, then proudly presenting the final products to you, Prom Country Cheese are the real deal, second generation cheesemakers based in Moyarra Valley. They could likely even tell you which of their happily frolicking sheep actually produced the piece of cheese you receive! Just like Santa's reindeer, each sheep has their role in ensuring us (big or little) kids get a good helping of cheese. Unless you're naughty - then you get coal. Just kidding, we can all have cheese, glorious sheep cheese!
What are the cheeses?
With four favourites included, this is a great showcase of what these artisian Victorian cheesemakers can do!
Call the chauffeur, the signature cheese has made its grand entrance! A true reflection of Pecorino, made only from sheep milk, get ready to saddle up and hold on because you’ll have many hands snapping at this one at first glimpse! A young, mild and nutty cheese, made from a recipe handed down from cheesemakers in Corzano, Tuscany, it’s more than a little bit spesh! Just to back up the origin of the cheese’s recipe, she’s also gone out and won some pretty big name awards too. It’s a gold here and a gold there, everywhere a gold, gold! You sang that didn’t you?
Like a newborn, the Cheviot Royale takes some time to ‘bake’ until perfection, 12 months of cellar maturing to be exact… and when you are waiting for such a beaming light to enter this world, it’s a very slow 12 months. You need patience but it’s well worth the wait! Once it arrives fully matured, with a developed orange, washed-rind surface, you will not be disappointed. The best bit is that it won’t keep you up at night, spit the dummy or need to be fed, but instead will have you dreaming of it and will actually feed YOU well and plenty! Ah, how refreshing for a newborn. This semi-hard ewes-milk cheese will leave you with a full heart, full stomach and savoury bacon flavours. Our cheesemakers have done the waiting so you can just grab it now and wrap your smackers around it!
Created to showcase locally produced native herbs, Moyarra Myrtle is a soft sheep-milk cheese sprinkled with Lemon Myrtle and Mountain Pepper Berries. Can you taste the flavours of this soft beauty? So luscious and spreadable, you could add her to anything and everything!
Named Australia's best, this 5 month matured cavity blue cheese is made with unique cultures from their own raw milk! It has a delicate smooth texture and rounded complex flavour. It's no snoozy Susan (sorry to any Susan reading)! This vibrant Venus Blue has consistently gone from strength to strength, certainly pulling its weight around the farm, helping to bring home awards year after year for Prom Country Cheese.
