The Kris Lloyd Pack!
"World Grand Champion Cheese!"
LIMITED & EXCLUSIVE
We are so excited (like as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve) about this pack! Firstly, we'll start by saying it is a VERY limited edition that has been created just for us - so if you want it, we'd recommend to get it quick. Kris Lloyd is an Adelaide cheesemaker who has built a serious name for her cheeses. Whether it's a special occasion, a gift for someone or just a treat for yourself, this pack of beautifully tasting, beautifully looking cheeses will bring a delightful ray of sunshine to anyone who's lucky enough to receive it. Right now the cheesemakers are out foraging for green ants and wild mushrooms to make these incredible cheeses just for you, in our exclusive cheesemaker pack. How awesome is that?
Who is Kris Lloyd?
Kris Lloyd is a self taught Australian Cheesemaker who has headed up Woodside Cheese Wrights at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills for over 20 years. Kris has pioneered a range of cheeses that have a point of difference and a special place on your cheese board. Her career as a cheesemaker may have started as an accident, but she is now completely passionate about all things cheese, food, wine and the Cheesemaking industry in Australia. Kris is supported by a dedicated team of cheesemakers that ensure all the cheeses produced at the factory at Woodside are of the highest quality and that they are all made using local cow, goat or buffalo milk.
What are the cheeses?
Kris has pioneered a range of cheeses that have a point of difference and a special place on your cheese board. Four of her best are showcased in this beautiful pack.
First this innovative creation begins as a super creamy chevre, it's then seasoned to give the simple fresh cheese a great personality that chefs’ ask for by name. Then, what happens next is crazy! They top with Native Australian Green Ants and a sprinkle of South Australian Lemon Myrtle, to create an incredible citrus hit! Anthill came in at number 11 out of 3021 cheese at the 2016-2017 World Cheese Award judged in San Sebastien, Spain taking out a prestigious SUPER gold medal.
Using a traditional overnight lactic fermentation method, a fresh creamy chevre is created. The following day the curds are labelled by hand and drained before they are whipped with a generous seasoning. A selection of herbs and organic edible flowers that are in season decorate the cheese. The cheese is named Monet after Monet Gardens because the finished product is not unlike photographs of his garden.
Named “the winemakers cheese”, Vigneron is a pleasantly earthy cheese.
Created to showcase the vine leaves and wines from their vineyard, Coriole in McLaren Vale. They specially select vine leaves to wrap the young cheeses in and gently wash the cheese with a 2004 Wooded Chardonnay. When ripe this cheese will ooze a velvety paste and give you a complex, pleasing mouthful. You can eat the leaves, if you desire!
This cheese holds a World Cheese Award SUPERGOLD! All cheese-a-holics know that means we are speaking the real deal here. It's an incredible hand-crafted washed rind triple cream with a centre of wild foraged porcini mushrooms. It can be eaten young if you want a milder cheese otherwise let it get funky and experience a truly fabulous representation of a washed rind cheese. It is also Kris' intention that the mushroom does not dominate this cheese but rather add a sweet earthiness which still allows the cheese to be the hero.
