BOTTLE OF WINE
2010 Mackenzie William 1896 Riesling
This vintage was the first ever release of the Mackenzie William Riesling of which Brockenchack held back a small portion to re-release as an aged vintage. What a great move this was, as this wine now really what the change in characteristics for an aged Riesling brings.
When Riesling is young, in its first year, it delivers tastes of lime juice and searing acid. As it ages, the acid will soften and the wine mellows and becomes reminiscent of buttered toast and honey. The fruit notes change from limes to oranges and apricots and grows in intensity.
