Cheddar fact of the day
Cheddar is typically one of the more expensive cheeses
available due to two reasons. Firstly, creating each kilogram of
cheddar requires far more milk that other cheeses such as brie
& camembert. It takes about 10 litres of milk to make just 1kg
while brie required 7 litres of milk.
The second reason is that cheddar requires storing for many
months, often 1-3 years. Meanwhile brie can be made much
faster and turned out in just a matter of a few short weeks.
